While performing regular maintenance on its Trans Mountain Pipeline, according to National Energy Board requirements, the Company detected a small amount of light crude oil on the surface of its right of way in a remote area near Kingsvale B.C. The company immediately shut down the pipeline and stopped the flow of oil through the line. Our staff have been on site investigating the incident since yesterday and work is underway to repair the line. The release area is fully contained and there is no impact to any water course and no threat to the public. Early indications are that the volume is small at less than 2 cubic meters (12 barrels). While the volume is small the Company’s response has been immediate and thorough.

All regulatory agencies and authorities have been notified.
