During the long weekend many Trans Mountain employees and contractors worked around the clock to complete a hydrostatic test on a 35km segment of the Trans Mountain pipeline that runs through rugged and steep terrain in the Coquihalla area. The preparation work required for this testing was substantial involving many field crews, engineers, schedulers, controllers, supervisors, managers, and contractors. Thanks to their tireless efforts, the test was successfully completed on schedule and with no failures. It reaffirmed the effectiveness of Trans Mountain’s proactive approach to pipeline integrity and maintenance.

Kinder Morgan Canada has a comprehensive and mature pipeline integrity management program that encompasses a broad spectrum of preventive measures to ensure pipeline soundness and reliability, safety of the public and employees and protection of the environment. These preventive measures include continuous 24/7 monitoring of the pipeline, in-line inspections, anomaly investigations and cut-outs, natural hazards management, and corrosion protection. Learn more about the operations and maintenance of the pipeline.
