On Saturday, May 12, Kinder Morgan Canada Limited (KML) participated in and was pleased to sponsor the Great Salmon Send-Off (GSSO). 2018 marks the 28th year of the GSSO and hundreds of people came to Stoney Creek Community School in Burnaby to celebrate.

The main event at the GSSO is the chance to release young salmon into Stoney Creek, however this year also saw a record number of exhibitors from local organizations. Attendees had the opportunity to build bird houses, find new books to read, test their salmon knowledge and more. At the KML booth, visitors were able to get creative by making fish art out of used CDs and decorating paper bags to carry treats collected from various booths.

The GSSO is a special event for KML; we’ve participated each year since 1990 and have been on its planning committee since 2008. The event is hosted by the Stoney Creek Environment Committee (SCEC), which is an organization dedicated to raising awareness for and restoring the Stoney Creek watershed. KML is a proud supporter of both the GSSO and the SCEC and we look forward to continuing our working relationship in the years to come.
