2019 was a busy year for us at Trans Mountain, highlighted by a few major milestone moments in the Trans Mountain Expansion Project.

This year we….

Received Government of Canada approval for the Expansion Project. This followed a Reconsideration Hearing process that began in the fall of 2018 and culminated with a recommendation to approve the Project being given by the Canada Energy Regulator on February 22, 2019.

Continued our commitment to safety, holding emergency response exercises all along our right-of-way, including the exercise that took place on the Fraser River in the video below.

Were visited by Prime Minister Trudeau at our Edmonton Terminal.

Undertook a successful shutdown, completing 16 important maintenance projects during the 48-hour shutdown period.

Reintroduced the contractors that will be responsible for building the Expansion Project, including; Kiewitt Ledcor Trans Mountain Partnership, SA Energy Group, Midwest Pipelines, Surerus Murphy Joint Venture, Macro Spiecapag Joint Venture and Cord.

Got work underway on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project at our Terminals in Edmonton and Burnaby, and resumed on-water construction at our Westridge Marine Terminal.
