On July 12, 2019, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited our Edmonton Terminal in Sherwood Park, Alberta to host a coffee chat with Trans Mountain’s employees and contractors.

The Minister of Natural Resources Amarjeet Sohi and Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre Randy Boissonnault also accompanied the Prime Minister on his visit.  

Prime Minister Trudeau joined employees and contractors in the terminal mechanical maintenance shop for coffee and conversation. There, he addressed the crowd and reiterated support for Trans Mountain and highlighted the importance of the Expansion Project. The team asked questions about construction readiness and support for Canada’s pipeline industry. 

After meeting with workers, the Prime Minister addressed the media to emphasize that the Expansion Project is moving forward and is in the best interest of Canadians. He spoke of balancing environmental protection with the industry’s need to find markets beyond the United States for oil.
