At Trans Mountain, we encourage our employees and contractors to be active members of their communities. Marc Alexander does just that. Marc works on the Expansion Project and volunteers as the Manager of Operations for the Dream Casters Society in British Columbia.
The Dream Casters Society provides recreational fishing experiences for people whose life opportunities are limited due to medical or personal circumstances, including members of our first responder community who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Last year, the Dream Casters Society applied for and received funding through Trans Mountain’s Community Investment Program. Trans Mountain’s grant helped send approximately 50 deserving people from across BC to participate in fishing trips with Dream Casters.
While the sturgeon they reel in are the highlight of the experience, Marc says, “There is no greater therapy than being on the water where your troubles can float away.”
Trans Mountain’s Community Investment Program funds positive legacies in the communities where we live and work. The grants are designed to address the community's needs through environmental stewardship, community well-being and education.
